5 great moves to stay active at your work desk

In this fast-paced life, people do not have enough time to meet their physical activity needs which can lead to chronic pain and diseases, obesity, etc. Here, I am listing a few great moves to be active while in the office or during a shift to be your best.


Stand up: This simply means stand up. Sitting for a long time at your work desk can cause reduced blood throughout the body, especially in the legs. It is really helpful to maintain good blood circulation by standing up from the chair for few times. Try to stand up from the chair at least 5-10 times in one hour.


Stretch: Try to do some kind of stretches and rotations while sitting. Do some stretching and rotations for the neck, hands, legs and so more. Exercises such as neck rotations, wrist rotations, forearm stretches, ankle rotations, etc.


Take short breaks: Take short breaks between shifts. It is a good time to perform a short walk.


Keep fitness bands/lightweights in the office: In the break time, it is a good choice to do a small workout using thera bands/weights. Keep active.


Avoid elevators: Simple but effective method to be active during office hours is using stairs instead of elevators.
